Editing two files

I usually

CTRL+w N

to create a new window. and then:

:edit otherfile

I use CTRL+w w to switch windows. Also

ctrl+w _ or = to

resize the window to max and equal partioning. My friend uses

:split otherfile

Which turns the first two steps into one.
